The Fct Judiciary under the leadership of Hon. Justice I. U. Bello the Chief Judge of FCT in it’s continuous efforts in ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of Justice in the FCT has directed Courts to entertain Cases of urgency during this COVID-19 Pandemic period but however Court proceeding must be conducted with strict adherence to the preventive measures on the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) as directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

In  view of the above, Courts will sit to dispose matters that are urgent, essential of time bound in line with extant laws from Monday 27th April, 2020. Bail applications and matters of the Enforcement of Fundamental Rights will be given priority.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the Courts will only admit such number of persons that will allow for the maintenance of reasonable social distancing between them, subject to a maximum of 15 persons per time to avoid high density gathering as recommended by the Presidential Task Force on the Covid-19 Pandemic. All parties in Court must also wear protective face masks.
